Workshop on

Software Estimation using Function Point Analysis

in detail (IFPUG method)

At Bangalore, Hurry! Register Today.

Software size is an important input for estimating the effort schedule and cost of software. However factors such as ever-expanding user requirements and the variety of software tools available today make it difficult to estimate the software size.

Function point analysis (FPA) is a structured technique for software size estimation and helps overcome these difficulties. This technique is widely used throught the world and well tested on thousands of projects. This technique involves viewing the functionality of software from the users’ perspective and then estimating the size based on the required functionality.

The objective of the workshop is to provide in depth training on Function Points Analysis estimation using IFPUG (International Function Point User Group Guidelines) technique for estimation size, effort and thereby derive project schedule for development and enhancement projects.

At the end of training:
After the completion of the course, the participants would be able to:
   • Understand the principles of good estimation
   • Understand the steps involved in a Function Point estimation for development project as per IFPUG Guidelines
   • Apply the techniques for Function Point estimation for development, enhancement projects.
   • Decide the testing effort and test cases based on the function point sizing.
   • Awareness on Backfiring Method to establish Function Point using Lines of Code
