Software Configuration Management is pivotal for projects to succeed in today's highly complex and sophisticated Software Development environment. Understanding SCM concepts goes a long way to shorten the product development cycle, improve quality, reduce the cost associated with unwanted change, and help build integrity into systems. This course demystifies the basics of SCM and also gives an in-depth understanding of SCM functions. Advanced topics like SCM tool selection, implementations, SCM plans and standards are also discussed to give a complete conceptual view of SCM. We also dwell on understanding how SCM and RM, when addressed together can go a long way in shaping successful projects. Understanding the importance of SCM in the latest Application Lifecycle Management framework is also covered

Faculty Profile : Mrs. Suja Prakash

Suja Prakash has 10 years of broad and valuable experience in all phases of Software Project Lifecycle with managerial and technical emphasis in Enterprise Software Development and Implementation, Configuration Management/Deployment, Requirements Engineering and Project Management methodologies.

She is currently an independent consultant conducting Public Workshops and corporate inhouse programs and is also the Consulting Partner for Serena Software Inc., the leaders in SCM products. Her programs have been received with great enthusiasm from clients like Wipro, Philips, Siemens Communication Software, Tesco, Microsoft, mphasis and many more.

 

She has worked on different and unique offshore models, in the United Kingdom, USA and India in roles such as Project Manager, Retail Domain consultant and Change Deployment Specialist.

At TCS, she implemented Software Configuration Management products for clients like GE, Target etc., She also has extensive experience in planning and implementing SCM practices at organization and project levels.

She was also involved in conducting Induction Programs for fresh entrants at TCS on end-to-end SDLC concepts.

Her experience on Process Modeling and Data modeling using CASE Tools has stood her in good stead on Requirements Development and Requirements Management.

She has worked for 3+ years with US Technology Resources on several business-critical applications for Safeway Canada in various challenging roles.
